About Me
Mahrukh’s Artistry is a one-woman show, founded and run by artist Mahrukh Haroon based in Sydney, Australia. Mahrukh specializes in paintings, and her artworks are inspired by her daily surroundings.
Mahrukh graduated from Punjab University from the art and design department with a bachelor’s degree in graphic designing, finishing her master’s degree soon after. She worked as a graphic designer in a software department called E.Softech. She then later moved to teaching art and design in Indianapolis College in Pakistan and painting as a hobby. After teaching for 5 years, she moved onto teaching textile fashion at City College for another 5 years. From 2007-2014 she taught in yet another school. In 2014 she moved to Sydney and continued her ongoing journey of teaching. She worked with different organisations and did face painting as a hobby. She teaches women and children of every age and sells paintings of any medium as a side job, mainly doing Islamic calligraphy. So far, she has done four exhibitions alongside her students, her first being on Kashmir and Palestine in which she submitted 9 of her own paintings. Her second exhibition was based on Pakistan day in the Parliament house of Sydney, her third was on Domestic Violence and her most recent was on Peace.
